Let's Get Plastered

Well the bricking is almost finished, seems like forever but the job looks perfect (from me an amateur). The brickies should be finished by the end of the week and the plastering starting soon after. Just the front needs to be finished just waiting for our front door frame to be replaced, it was left in the rain before Christmas and has warped.

The view from the bridge behind us that go ever the wetlands, looks more like a house now.

The infills have been put over some of the windows.

An example of the effort gone into the bricking, much better than some that I have seen including the display homes.

The wall insulation has been put in and all the walls leveled and straightened ready for the plaster.

All the electrical has been roughed in, and some wires for our Home Theatre which I ran myself, our Super is great most Metricon Supers would not let you on-site but it is amazing what a little King Island Cheese will do.

Also at the same time added some extra noggins for toilet roll holders and towel rails.

The heater ducting has also been roughed in and unit has been installed in the ceiling.

The baths and shower bases all installed also.

The Dining Room, you can see the green paint where the Pre-Plaster inspection was done and that upright needs to be packed out for the plaster.

Sh!t a Brick

Well the Brickies were working today YES Sunday!!! They bricked under the Master Bedroom, En-suite and Dining Room windows. Our Supervisor said they would brick 1/2 way up all the way around then erect scaffolding to do the top.

Around the Front Door cannot be finished yet as the Door Frame needs to be replaced as it is warped from laying in the rain, should be done next week.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race.

The Brickies turned up this week, not a lot has been achieved, but the weather has been less than good, drizzling most of the week. all that aside I have to say the quality is excellent. Also the Tilers were back to finish off the ridge capping mortar, take down the safety rails and clean the roof, looks fantastic.

The Chippy was back this week also to bolt the frame down and the glaziers were in to put glass into the bi-fold doors.

Next week should be the insulation wrapping and the electrical starting. The bricking may be a couple of weeks away due to lack of Brickies.

Finally looking like a House

Well the 'Chipies' have finished the walls are up, the outside doors and windows are in and the roofing trusses completed.

Before Christmas we had a few hold ups, firstly the one of the guys shot himself in the knee with his nail gun 'OUCH'. Then the wrong trusses were delivered. After a rocket you know where on Monday it was all guns blazing with extra guys on site to finish the framing.

Here is our Alfresco and Bi-Fold Doors.
