I've got wood

After 21/2 week waiting for the slab to cure we had some action again, first the wood was delivered

Then the front door frame and the temporary front door.

Here is our front door and handle, it will be installed closer to handover so some nice person with light fingers doesn't borrow it.

The 'Chippies' then marked on the slab where the rooms will be.

And cut and laid the timber out to start building the frame.

It was really good to finally see the rooms where everything will be.

More work tommorow hopefully, according to our Supervisor the gutters and fascia will be on by Christmas. Better get moving boys.

Beer anyone????

Well not quite but the slab was poured on Friday and i am sure it will have it's fair share of beer drunk on it.

On Tuesday the start of the slab framing started and the reo and foam waffles were delivered.

On Wednesday no work was done due to the fact that Melbourne had one of those days when we had monthly average rainfall in one day.

Thursday the concreters were back to finish off the form work.

This is the foundations for the alfresco

The orange disc is the termite guard

The concreters were back early on Friday to pour the slab.

And before we knew it they were gone and it was all done.

More progress this week

We have had quite a busy week considering that it was a short week in Melbourne due to Cup Day.

On Monday the bin and toilet were delivered.

On Wednesday the Meter Box was installed.

On Thursday the water meter installed.

The underground plumbing was done on Saturday.

When the underground works were done on Saturday, the plumber has put this big pink pipe in the middle of where the driveway will be, the red line on the right is the outside of the driveway. We will call our CSC on Monday to see if this is a temporary pipe or permanent, if it is permanent we will ask for it to be moved.

The wetlands are starting to establish their eco-systems now and the local bird life are starting to move in.

We have pegs all we are missing is a tent

The builder was out early on Friday and had the house all pegged out by 8.30am. The front tap and underground plumbing should be finished by the end of the week.
According to our Customer Service Co-ordinator (CSC) the slab will be started either Friday or Monday.

With all the rain on the wekend we have a mini swimming pool where our garage will soon be.

We have a big yellow CAT on our block

We had a start date of Wednesday and today by surprise we had a big yellow CAT digging up our block. They took about 150mm of dirt out of the garage and porch area and built and leveled out where the house will sit.

Our own piece of DIRT

Yay, we had settlement of our land today at 2.00pm. So we now (or should I say the Bank) own 630m2 of dirt, well actualy mud with the rain today in Melbourne. The land was re surveyed on Tuesday and the dirt stockpile will be moved by early next week, or as I am told by Delfin (the land developer). I spoke with Metricon during the week and they said they would be on site within three weeks. This should give them about 8 weeks to get as much done before the Christmas shutdown.
